Cable trunking is specified by its cross-section — for example, 50×50, 75×75 or 100x100mm. When sizing a run, remember that BS 7671 and the IET On-Site Guide (Appendix E) recommend cables occupy no more than 45% of the trunking’s internal cross-sectional area.
